When Laravel is the right choice

Laravel is a modern PHP framework for building fully custom web applications. Where a CMS like WordPress or Drupal starts with pages and content, Laravel starts with your data and processes, which makes it ideal for portals, booking systems, dashboards, SaaS platforms and anything a CMS would struggle to do.

We’ve built with Laravel since 2016 for organisations in Perth, Melbourne and across Australia. It’s secure, well documented and backed by a large global community, so your application isn’t tied to a single developer.

If your project is mostly content, WordPress or Drupal will usually be quicker and more cost-effective. If it’s mostly data, logic and users, Laravel is usually the better foundation.

What’s the difference between a website and a web application?

A website mainly presents information. A web application lets people do things: log in, manage data, submit and approve requests, or process transactions. Portals, booking systems and SaaS platforms are all web applications.

When does custom software make more sense than off-the-shelf?

When off-the-shelf tools force your team into workarounds, can’t connect to your other systems, or become expensive as your user numbers grow.

How do you estimate the cost of a web application?

We start with a discovery phase that maps your workflows, users, data and integrations. That gives you a clear estimate and a staged plan, so you can prioritise features and control your budget.

Can you integrate a web application with our existing systems?

Yes. We regularly connect applications to CRMs, marketing platforms, booking systems and identity providers such as Salesforce and Azure AD.
